It's been a very hot and dry spring and we seem to have jumped straight to Summer with no rain for 3 months I picked up a couple of things this week from the local charity shops
An Akubra hat for $1.00 and a child's velvet riding helmet for $2 (just for decoration)
I love ceramic apothecary jars and this is my second
digging out my vintage bridal headpiece collection and rotating them
In the garden this week
Princess Alexandra of Kent
Abraham Darby
the first rose from the Mme Gregoire Staechlin which we planted in June and will cover a wall
Pierre de Ronsard
Clematis
Pink Wisteria Tree
recently planted Indian Hawthorn Bush
catmint
Look who has just migrated from the neighbors to our own gum tree...isn't he gorgeous

Some great finds, I particularly loved the hats. The garden is glorious and I am loving your little friend in the gum tree.
ReplyDeleteHe is so gorgeous! xxx
DeleteI love your apothecary jar, that creamy colour and the crazing is beautiful. Your garden is looking lovely despite the lack of rain. The roses are gorgeous, you are very good to know there names. I remember on of mine is the Peace rose which I planted in memory of my Grandma and another I have is Winchester Cathedral. Weird name for a rose don't you think?! That koala is so cute. You must have a great source of food for him. Enjoy.

your blog is a breath of fresh air on a miserable wet day in England xxx
ReplyDeleteOh a photo of the bargain Akubra, you really did well with that find.

I've never even seen a ceramic apothecary jar before, but I can see the allure. It's exquisite! Your garden is sublime and your furry friend looks very happy. Can you stroke him or would he bite? Does your cat go near him? I can't imagine having koalas in my garden. xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to agree with the other comments, that apothecary jar is A-MAZING! Found you on the Thoughts From Alice link up =)
ReplyDeleteLove your finds.. it's always great to come across something you really like. Yes, it's been pretty dry here too and we are having very hot days.. today included. Will have to rotate the hose around today or else things will start to die. Love your roses.. I have a lot coming out now too. Some are just in their second year but are getting more established now. I also have clematis that are establishing themselves. Will have to post some pics soon, been too busy on FB lol! take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteHi Meg I love your finds too. Garden looks good despite lack of rain. We recently visited S.A. and loved the diversity of the state. Loved the Adelaide Hills are you near there?
ReplyDeleteThe ceramic jar is lovely, and those (bargain!) hats are perfect for your beautiful rural setting. Your little visitor is fabulous too! Thanks for linking up to Vintage Bliss Tuesdays! Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool riding hat! And your pretty lady is very beautiful! Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteJeepers, I thought I had a pretty nice view, but yours is stunning. Two of my children are in Oz; one in Byron, the other in Rocky..... Adelaide looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cro...the Adelaide Hills are very pretty!
DeleteYou sure found some wonderful treasures this week. Your yard and beautiful blooms look like they're thriving despite your lack of rain. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us at Vintage Inspiration Party.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that view is as stunning as your roses! The apothecary jar would make a cute vase, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Meg.

ReplyDeleteYou find amazing bargains on your treasure hunts, I tend to only find one decent thing a year in my charity shops :( The best thing you have "found" this week however has ot be the beautiful little koala who has moved to your gum tree, what a privilege to get to see him every day, I am so jealous, but also very pleased fr you, enjoy him while you can.
