A Blue Day

I called into the Animal Welfare Shop on Friday and found a couple of blue and white pieces

 

This chinz vase is quite large and will be great for hydrangas

My 3rd King Penguin arrived in the mail this week

 

 

 

The garden has slowly recovered from the heatwave.....spinach,cucumbers,spring onions,parsley,tomatoes,basil and chilli

A Good Day's Haul

I hit a few op shops this week and found an eclectic mix of bargains . I was gobsmacked to find this highly collectable vintage  Royal Worcester  porcelain egg coddler  "Palmyra" for $2, at a Quaker shop.

 

 

 

Another old book to add to my growing collection  c1897 found in a junk shop in the Adelaide Hills

A vintage "Stratton" compact with monogram, yay now I have 6 in my little collection

This week's mail bought my second King Penguin book for my new collection.

 

 

 

I first read about this beauties in "Homes and Antiques" in an article written by one of the BBC Antique Road Show experts and fell in love with their covers

A Classic Saturday Find

We were up early this morning  to haunt a book sale at a local church that I picked up great old books last time and it didn't disappoint ..... I love this old  classic book and a bargain at $5. I wonder what happened to Emma

The  first King Penguin book arrived in the post, for  my new collection. There are 79 gorgeous collectable editions in the series to find and they all have wonderful covers from the 1940s  to 1950s. This one is number 30. I fell in love with them after seeing a story in BBC Homes &Antiques magazine last year all displayed together

I opened a Christmas gift yesterday for the first time... a gorgeous quilt roll on winter!

We are battling to keep our vegetable garden alive in the above century heat
