Wintery Days

Welcome back to my new name and refreshed page

Brrr...we have had very wild weather and the Adelaide Hills have taken a severe battering the last week. We were lucky not to lose power like 40,000  South Australian households but I was worried about my huge gum in 100 km + winds

Gray days but still colour in the garden from camellias , jonquils, and lots of galahs , rosellas and cockatoos nesting in the trees

on the flagpole

Dust bathing beauties

oooo....what's that

going somewhere Sascha?

  1. Love the new look, Meg and as usual your photos are just stunning. I have been looking at prices for the Nikon Coolpix 610 camera although there is probably a newer version out now as my son and I might buy one between us. I just love the detail in your photos.

  4. The first two photos have an almost surreal quality to them. Very stunning. The others are wonderful, too. I love your pictures. They show me what life might be like where you live. Around here it would be almost unheard of to see such "tropical" birds flying freely. And, it's always a joy to see "The Girls"! Your new banner and name seem more accurate {now that you have changed it}! It's certainly a delight to see you back and blogging! Thank you! Fonda

  7. Meg we live just outside Strathalbyn and we had no power for 18 hours one day and then it came back on then off for another 12 hours plus multiple small outages. You have no idea how cold and dark your home can be unless there is a power outage in Winter. Luckily we have a gas cooktop so we could make hot drinks and cook simple meals. If you are concerned about your gumtree or if it overhangs the house maybe an Arborist could make the tree safe for you?

  9. A lovely new name that is fitting for your gorgeous blog Meg. As always, your photos are amazing. Hope you are staying warm as these winter low pressure systems make their way across Australia. They have even crept up the east coast to us... and I didn't enjoy the cold blast I can tell you!!
I'm delighted to be featuring your blog at tomorrow's Shabbilicious Friday.
