This Week's Finds

It's been a while since I found any antique pillow cases for my collection ...I have really stopped looking to hard as I have a big pile of them....but I found these at a little shop at half price

This sweet little tapestry bag for my collection was only $5 at Vinnies

All my vintage bag collection are charity shop purchases

It's always exciting when  Etsy purchases arrive in the mail.

A sweet project bag from the the UK

a 19th century French cotton remnant ...I'm searching for more faded, old pieces to create something special

I unpacked the over sized cups and saucers we bought on our trip away....Royal Botanic Gardens,Kew....my new breakfast faves

I am counting down the days until Spring in the garden. Everything is at a standstill at the moment. I can't wait until all our new planting blooms.....sweet peas, stocks, peonies, larkspur, hellebore's , foxgloves, daffodils, lavender.

A freezing frosty dawn

A rare few hours of afternoon sun

Mr VL bought home some bare-rooted roses....my favourite..I think they are the world's most beautiful climbing rose...Mme Gregoire Staechelin, they smell divine too. This pic is a sneak preview and they are going up on a trellis.

A Blue Week and White Week

In between finishing off painting another 3 rooms in a dazzling white, we made a visit to our favourite country market

An up-cycled sewing drawer
perfect for my crochet cottons

A vintage milk bottle holder

I love this old farm house zinc water holder. It has the cutest chained plug and tap

The finished dining room. All that is needed is the wonderful black and white photos of Europe we blew up and framed with Ikea frames that I featured in a post from our city home . It will be great to unpack them at last

YAYYYY! white walls

Daphne bush in bloom

Foggy mornings

Freezing afternoons

Stormy skies

A Busy Week

We hit the ground running after getting home from a 7 day interstate trip
I finished off the Victorian towel rail

Before

I loaded it up with 1/10th of my antique linen collection but decided it just didn't look right

I ended up with my depression quilt and just couple  more pieces

Three more rooms being painted  in brilliant white which hopefully be finished tomorrow. Goodbye poo brown!!!!!!!!!

Oblivious to the chaos

I forgot about to post this pic last week... this little book also came from our trip......a sweet piece of social history from 1859

A rare moment this week when it's not raining

Tripping and Painting

We arrived back home after 7 days away and a few treasures found and about to start painting the final half of the house as soon as we set our bags down

We fell in love with this piece at a huge antique warehouse and we carried around in the boot
during the trip. It is an ancient Indian cooking pan and rests on an old wrought iron stand
We are going to plant it up for the front verandah

Acres of vintage 'stuff"

A cute  vintage monogrammed brief case .....as if I need more!!

Another Deco mirror for my bathroom wall

We visited Mum while away and she gifted me one of her pieces ....a Crown Ducal vase which is a gorgeous design

...and a couple of more pieces for my James Kent collection

We are shifting every thing into other rooms this morning before tackling the ceilings

What a mess!

Winter chill
