When I saw this tall jar in a charity shop I decided it would be a great idea for displaying the antique cutlery I posted about last week
At last...........no more revolting brown walls. The last rooms at the front of the house have been painted white. We don't really use these 2 rooms and they mainly house the family pieces that have to be kept
We also painted a cream chair and a gold mirror with white chalk paint
before
freezing cold morning
mmmmmmmmm.......Italian for dinner

Wow impressive chair it looks stunning now that you have painted it. That chalk paint really is amazing isn't it? The mirrors has a new lease of life also, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the paint because I don't need to prepare the piece of furniture...so easy!
DeleteWhat a lovely way to display the vintage flatware! I like the idea of having it out so it can be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThe paint projects turned out awesome, too.
Hugs,
Patti
Meg, you breathe new life into everything you touch, honestly. I wonder if you'd share this post at Five Star Frugal this week? I had to give the linkup a break due to family commitments but we're up and running with a vengeance and you know I'd be thrilled to have you. Love Mimi xxx

I love how the chair looks! I love the frame of the mirror, too, though hate mirrors. At my age I try to avoid reflective things!
ReplyDeleteThankyou so much for sharing this post with us at Five Star Frugal Meg. Love, Mimi xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi
DeleteThe chair and mirror look stunning with their chalk paint update. is it easy to work with?
ReplyDeleteYour house is so beautifully decorated Meg. x
Hi Meg, I don't remember where I found your blog, but I'm glad I did! I just looked through some of it and I really like your vintage finds, the beautiful views of where you live, your kitty (I have three!), your photographs and stories. I hope that you will come over to my blog and get to know me as well! Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the jar and putting the cutlery in it is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Meg, you have a beautiful home. Everything looks clean and crisp. And oh boy what a lovely view of your hood. How beautiful must be living in a place like that. You are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of winter.
Hugs,
Aida
Everything is so pretty painted white! Love the mirror and chair!
ReplyDeleteExcellent painting Meg! I really want to have a nose at that striking dresser in the background! Love the white rooms. White works so well in countries with sun and blue sky. Not so much with grey sky. xxx
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of displaying your beautiful flatware, it should be seen and not hidden away. That chair is gorgeous and looks so refreshing with a fresh coat of paint. Thank you for sharing at VIP.
ReplyDeleteI thought the chair would be my favorite in your post, but the bowl of roses is beautiful. Hope Sascha is recovering well. The girls eat Italian?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using the jar to store the cutlery. It looks so nice. Everything in your home looks so charming! Visiting from Simple and Sweet Fridays!
