This Week's Finds



I found 2 sweet things in a charity shop this week 
A pretty kilt pin with a purple stone for $4 ....perfect for pinning my pashminas and shawls this winter











This book for $3 is so old and frail it was in a plastic bag , how precious must it have been to Sarah. I have a medallion  on ribbon ,which came with another antique book, so I have tied up the book with it












I don't buy many new books but I couldn't buy this fast enough...it's DIVINE



The trees are bare but the Golden Elm is still hanging on

    The book is 264 years old! My, oh, my! And the book was on its 50th edition! I love how you displayed it. The pin...you didn't say how much you paid for that! {wink, wink} It is beautiful, especially for its thistle motif! How appropriate! As always, say hello to the girls!

    Gosh - you always find some amazing things when charity shopping - I feel inspired to get out there and dig around our local charity shops now with a more discerning eye!

    Oh, the pin is just fabulous!I love it but, that sweet book has to be my favorite. The way you tied it with ribbon and added the medallion is just the perfect touch!

    Just whiled away a Saturday night identifying your Sarah Norgate. Ancestry.com helped me! She was born in 1729 and at age 24 married Charles Annison in Norfolk England . Date of marriage was March 10th 1753. Charles was born in 1730 and was christened at St John's, Timberhill, Norwich, Norfolk. Nice to read your blogs. So beautiful! Helen
