In autumn 2014 I found a charity shop vintage wedding dress and veil , for my collection of vintage wedding pieces, and I found another this week for $10. see here the 2014 post
I don't really collect dresses just headpieces and veils but... ohhh.... the satin on this is to die for, I just couldn't leave it behind
The satin is so slinky I can't even fold it up without it sliding to the floor
A gorgeous long train
The next 3 pics are from previous post of my collection
February is not my fave month ....the garden is blah.... to late for summer flowering and too early for autumn and awful heatwaves like the one coming up this weekend and I'm feeling apprehensive about more bush fires
another flowering this season of clematis which were cut back hard
6am bright hot light from the back porch
from the front porch

Hello Meg,
ReplyDeleteGosh, one really can feel the heat from your photographs. The cat certainly has the best idea.....just lie down and collapse!
The vintage wedding dress is amazing in every tiny detail. The covered buttons, the tiny beads, it really is a work of art. It would be lovely to think that it would find a contemporary bride as it begs to be worn again down an aisle!
A truly beautiful collection, the wedding dress is stunning.
ReplyDeleteLovely views, lovely cat and February is not my month either, too early for spring, too late for winter....
ReplyDeleteYou have so many wonderful collections, never thought before of collecting weddingpieces but it's so nice and the weddingdress.....just gorgeous the satin and the train of little buttons.
Would love to see someone model the dress as hard to see! Sounds like a delight to the skin!
ReplyDeleteThe wedding dress is lovely as is you collection of wedding headpieces. I recently purchased a vintage dress for and would love to find something like the wedding dress for her.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so gorgeous! What will you do with it? I love your jewels and your cute kitty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress; the details are stunning. Thank you for sharing your lovely treasures at Vintage Inspiration Party.
ReplyDeleteWow that dress is so pretty! It would be so fun to have a shop full of vintage wedding goodies that people could rent instead of buy! I think so many people would be content just renting something that beautiful... I mean what do you do with a wedding dress after you've worn it once anyway? Store it for a few years and then donate it!
ReplyDeleteTania
donate....eeek...I have my grandmother's,mother's and my own in a silk lined vintage suitcase
DeleteWhat a gorgeous piece and then your scenery and views...everything's lovely ( kitty too ! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for identifying clematis! We bought our house a bit over a year ago and a clematis surprised us last summer - I'd been calling it the "non-lily" all this time!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your gorgeous wedding finds. You are featured this week at Ivy and Elephants! Feel free to drop by and grab a featured button.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
