A Holiday Monday Trip

We decided to do a day trip around the countryside on the holiday Monday. I found one of those country antique shops in the sleepy town of Kapunda, choc a block full of stuff. I spied this tiny 1930's globe made in Tokyo...love the faded patina. I'm a fanatical globe collector and I beat the owner down on price

On to visiting rival garden nurseries...which means gift shops too ...YAY...I found a pretty large ceramic ball and a mercury bottle for my bedroom collection ...both for $11

Just for the lovely Zara and Connie who have requested I take pics of my bridal headpiece collection together!!

Starting to pick  a few more flowers in the garden

The massive job of cutting out the huge juniper bush is finished and it takes up the almost the whole bottom of the yard. We can bonfire it in May. The big job of pruning the orchard trees has begun as the previous owners espaliered them and then didn't prune them. Only apples left to harvest in April

The pile of cut
branches extends from the left of the picture to the middle. The patches of white you can see behind our Prunus trees is  thousands of netted apple trees over our back fence

  10. Oh I was giggling when I read you beat down the shop owner for the globe. I had no idea vintage shopping was so rough. Gorgeous flowers!
