We took a trip to our favourite country town places to find treasures this week. Mr VL fell in love with these 2 old paintings
They are oils on board, probably Victorian and have brass plaques " Evening in the Highlands and "Morning in the Highlands"They would of course have brown frames but at some stage been painted with a " French shutter" shade of blue.
We haven't put them up yet and still deciding where they will look best
A year ago I fell in love with this heavy cast iron wreath to hang on a wall,
from France which was too expensive ...it was on display again reduced by 70%
My other find was an Art Deco era Diana Ware glazed vase in the most gorgeous colour. It perfect for my pink roses
I also picked up a couple of goodies from the local charity shop
A $2 cushion
Brand new shoes for Christmas day....$2
roses massed along the back verandah
Green fields turning to gold
potatoes,rhubarb,tomatoes,beans,lettuce
heads down bum's up
The house is filled with fragrance

Your roses are beautiful! Love the cast iron wreath that finally came down to the right price! and...Don't look so glum, kittie!
ReplyDeleteI'm almost swooning over your beautiful finds. My favourite being those gorgeous blue frames and the blue vase. Lovely pics and chickens! I'm always envious of people who have chickens. There's nothing nicer than freshly laid eggs. xx
ReplyDeleteWe have the same chookies yours are very healthy look and no wonder your grass is still green. Great find with the new shoes for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGreat old paintings - love the blue frames. Your roses are so beautiful. Thanks for including the girls and Sasha.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are divine! I love your highland paintings but what they really need is a lanky girl in a flowy tweed skirt, wandering through the mist... xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds! But I must say the rolling hills and your beautiful roses are the stars. What a beautiful view! Sadly we have had freezing weather and expecting more in the morning. I doubt there will be any fall hues when the weather subsides. Living in the deep south, this is unusual for us.
ReplyDeleteI just love your pictures and that cushion is so shabby! Your roses are gorgeous and your kitty has such personality! Gorgeous pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of photos of your gardens and your beautiful hens and, of course, the ever lovely Sascha....
ReplyDeleteHi Meg, visual treats in every photo. Loved the roses in your turquoise vase and those turquoise frames show such wonderful age.
ReplyDeleteMeg, lucky you - you got so wonderful founds and you still have these beautiful roses in your fantastic garden. Oh I love to see this and can smell them in my little house!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy happy time
