A Big Gardening Week


I visited a couple of Salvo shops this week and found a couple of treasures


I love this little jug.....it's a Booth's "British Scenery" from the 1930's...$3.. and perfect for roses.
I have a large collection of blue and white china but since we moved it's packed away in a box





Another sweet victorian book for my collection....$5






I love the shape of this old large jar




It's already cold at night in the hills....I have laundered all the quilts. 






This large cane trunk I bought last year has been a godsend


Wood has been delivered



In the garden this week


We bought a large lot of seedlings in preparation of Spring..delphiniums ,aquilegia, miniature cyclamen ,larkspur, stocks



Where there once was a horrible juniper bush


BEFORE


 a new garden bed has been created with a mixture of pink and blue flowers in Spring


Pruning fruit trees




 A new vegetable garden is in construction with paved paths is going in between



Salvias around the chicken coop. Sweetpeas have been planted up the coop wire

  1. Your new treasures are lovely. Old books are very special and look lovely in your display. Your gardening week has been huge with lots of plantings in preparation for spring, pruning and organising. Your part of the world looks very pretty.

  4. I've just put an extra doona on the bed this week, autumn sure has arrived.
    The sweet peas will look lovely when they flower on the chicken coop.

  7. I have so enjoyed watching the chicks hatch and grow up. Your landscape is quite lovely. The stack of quilts remind me of snuggling by the fire with a mug of hot tea.
