Thrift Shopping

I popped into Vinnies this week and found a couple of little treasures for my many collections

This vintage evening clutch was hiding in it's original box.Sweet ivory sequins hand sewn on silk and lined in moire with its original mirror $9.50

An old faded ironstone plate 50c

A boxed pair of mid century books ...I love the colour and covers $2

In the garden this week
The garden and surrounding fields are continuing to green up slowly and I've got my fingers crossed that we don't have more hot weather as we often do in March

We planted borders of Hidcote Lavender alternated with Golden Oregano

The Gum tree is full of rosellas , galahs and kookaburras

Still picking tons of tomatoes, silver beet, spring onions. The nectarines are all eaten,a few plums left and waiting for the apples to ripen

  1. Miss Henny Penny you are one pretty little chook.
What a lovely find the evening clutch is, and still in its box.

  2. Hello Meg:

Yet more treasures!! The little evening bag is an absolute delight and clearly most beautifully made. We are unsure about the conversion of Australian dollars into Hungarian forint but clearly it was not too much money.

Your garden is looking most attractive; you must feel well pleased. Hidcote lavender is possibly our favourite. We kept a hedge of it for nineteen years by cutting hard back after flowering to prevent it from becoming woody.

  19. beautiful place to live. Love the chickens. Nice treasures too. I just love to find things in thrift shops but I tend to over do things and get everything I see. I need to discriminate. But a bargain is a bargain. I love the blue plate
