  2. I did the same thing, I pounced on an item as it was being dropped off last week at Vinnies, just as I was doing a drop off too...it was cheeky, I know..and I think I got the item for less as it was a spur of the moment decision...BUT....I am donating boxes and boxes of stuff at the moment, so I think it was okay..kind of... :) I felt guilty for about, a minute.. lol

  3. Hi Meg - I love that wonderful vintage lace ...reminds me of my Grand-mothers wedding dress which was kept in a box on top of my Mother's wardrobe for years and was rarely opened ... when it was, there would be this wonderful olde-world fragrance wafting up from the depth of the much weathered brown box. Special memories!
I left a message under your comment on my blog in regards to the "From Scratch Patisserie" pop up kitchen ... hope you go and hope youe enjoy it.

  4. The egg cups are a great score! Is your kitty a Russian Blue? Your cat is beautiful and so cute sitting in the box.

    1. Hi Chloe! He is a Russian Blue and we named him Sascha after the Russian Emperor Alexander whose nickname was Sascha. We chose this breed because they are so gentle and intelligent

  6. Hi Meg, First time to your blog. Love your globe collection. I've started to collect them for my kids rooms and they love them. Also love those egg cups. Great find! I had a Russian Blue years ago. He was such a beautiful cat, intelligent -yes, but I did have a chuckle at the gentle reference! I always thought of him more of a lion trapped in a domestic cat's body. But he was a love and one of my favorite cats.

  10. Oh how lovely the lace is. What is it about vintage lace that captures our hearts? Who last owned it and what was it used for, probably a Baptismal Gown or Wedding.
I don't think I would soak it,just squeeze it through some cool water with a little vinegar added.
Some other lovely finds here too. Happy hunting.I am visiting from Coloradolady x
