A Busy Spring Saturday

I zipped around to a couple of thrift shops this week
I couldn't resist this old,old draught set for $1...love the dovetail corners
A beautiful platter for $5

One of the perks of Mr VL's job is we can go out to the plant  wholesaler and choose from thousand's of plants at a fraction of the price...so we popped out this morning  and did some planting today .

....and so to planting in our garden on a gorgeous Spring afternoon

  1. I love that game set! Dovetail corners are the best, and the board looks great, too :)

  2. What a beautiful game board--so vintage looking. And how cool is that to shop at that wonderful nursery--Your garden is looking fantastic. We are just about finished up here in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It's been super dry, which is very unusual for here, but the rains are supposed to return on Friday, so we'll see. Take care, and have a wonderful week!

  3. You are so lucky. I have been looking for wooden checkers to go with a handmade checker board I found. No luck, so my husband made some disks out of apple wood for now.

  8. Love your pretty garden. It's fall here where I live and I just cut down all of my plants and flowers in my flower garden, so sad. You are so lucky to be able to get flowers at a discount!
