Found little Treasure

We visited so many charity shops in our week away I had forgotten about this little book I picked up at the Balhannah Anglicare Shop. I found it yesterday in the back seat of the car. It was $2 and was published in 1904. How cute! This shop was probably the most competitive I have been's tucked away from the town's main street...but before opening there were locals clutching baskets pressed up against the door and were glaring at the out-of towners from the big smoke!!

...and if Balhannah was a tough crowd.... Mannum (on the River Murray) was the smelliest...Mr VL couldn't get out of there fast enough

  1. That must be one popular op-shop.
Wow that beeok is in great condition considering its age. A great find.

  2. What a great find! I love Balhannah. I shall have to pay the op shop a visit next time. Letitia

  3. Hi Letitia!!
Yes so do we, that's why we always love to stay at Adelaide Country Cottages....and it gives me quick access to my FAVOURITE shop....Balhannah by Design.........and I LOVE your page! xx

  4. I think you should write a guide to op-shops in SA, but that might be giving all your secrets away!

  5. Ha! I love op-shop stories like those ~ a guide would be very handy (and amusing!)

I love to hear from you and appreciate your messages. Meg xx
