I found this 1960's globe in the Salvos on Thursday morning complete with it's original book. I know I promised Mr VL no more globes...but it's GORGEOUS!!!

 

 

 

I took on the big task this Christmas of a hot lunch of turkey and pudding  and then a cold buffet in the evening of ham,atlantic salmon,cake and chocolate trifle

A Little Thrifting....Decorating...and Gardening

I found the time to visit an Op-shop further away and was lucky enough to find this lovely old pyjama bag

 

 

 

Visited a beautifully decorated "Wheel and Barrow " shop...all in white and silver Christmas decorations and Mr VL bought this pair of trees which sparkle in candlelight

 

 

YAY!!! gifts have all been wrapped.....

A Silvery Christmas

I spied this gorgeous large silver urn in the Opshop

A bit difficult to take a pic of as it's so shiny and all you can see is me so I took the shot from above ,but its quite large and tall...perfect for filling with greenery

I couldn't resist this beautiful handblown glass ball

Went shopping for Bon Bons and Gift paper

At last my gorgeous Jeanne D'Arc Cards arrived

 Visited the House and Garden Sale and couldn't resist this stand for half price

Time out for Christmas spruce up.....hair,nails and pedicure

The Week that Was

A nice little find at the opshop - a nice  American silver comport for $4

 

 

 

 

The last couple of years I've had a red and green Xmas theme so this year I'm going white and silver,so yesterday I started going through my huge linen collection - I have been collecting antique linen since the 80's-trying to decide what to use...still haven't put it together in my mind yet. Almost all are Opshop finds,but is a lot harder to find these days!

As you know last week I had to put our large artificial fir tree away as Sascha was chewing off the needles so Plan B was to go Scandi and trim a branch and  decorate it ...WRONG... Sascha decided it was even more exciting than Plan A and attacked it ...SIGHHHH......Plan C is to go for broke and buy a fresh tree a few days before Xmas Day....I'll keep you posted!

 

 

 

Hiding away in shame!!!

 

 

It's been stinking hot all week ...so hot out come the summer shoes.... and the veg garden is growing fast especially the tomatoes and cucumbers and loads of rhubarb
