Faded

Sometimes it's quite strange how I find things the same colour or theme in one week
This week I picked up some sweet faded pieces for some of my collections

Faded fabric for my stash

Spring is slowly peeping around the corner

Daffies  and Muscari starting to pop up

First Anniverary of a Country Move

This week marks one year since we moved from the city to a small country town, and it's been a big adjustment for me personally, mostly I love it but sometimes not so much!
Mr VL bought me a present this week from a second hand shop .It's a very pretty shape. I'm going to live with a while to see whether I want to repaint it

For the princely sum of $2 I found a pair of petty blue gingham lampshades and a vintage hand embroidered tray cloth in the local charity shop

I love this Royal Staffordshire Burslem flow ware bowl which was out on a half price table because of a chip. The pattern is called Jenny Lind

We inherited a lousy oven from the previous owners and at last we installed a new wall oven

And we removed the old ugly wall fan and replaced it with a fan which is a large light with clear blades which retract when not in use

 In the garden this week

Freezing frosts

A few bright spots in the garden

Making preserved lemons from our overloaded tree

The last Week of July

This week I found a couple of things . I love these  large old  wooden reels from Scotland

A few months ago I posted about the sweet silver casket I found which was lined in eau de nil silk and this week I found another piece from the same estate which I missed last time

We put up the pictures in the newly painted dining room

and Mr VL bought home a present for me from work

In the garden this week we are still gearing up for Spring
2 Magnolia trees were planted in the front lawn

And at last my dream to have  "Madame Gregoire Staechelin"roses clambering over a house is going to happen,we planted 2 on the bare side wall

How gorgeous does this one look!

We also planted a "Mary Rose" down by the fruit trees which is a large bush and needs lots of
space

The ground is so wet the girls who love "dusting " themselves were desperate to find any dry patch of ground and were huddled in a corner....too cute!

What I'm reading from the library this week

Gorgeous book!

No cats allowed on the beds......Sascha didn't get the memo
