A visit on Saturday to a busy Salvo's in the Adelaide Hills was a last minute decision. As you all know I collect vintage bridal headpieces and I spotted one with a dress which I don't have any room for. I asked the manager to split them but she stayed firm but said I could have them half price. SOLD! Now I have 8!
They are from the 30's and the tulle is too far gone from neglect so I spent hours removing after taking these pics
I haven't taken any shots of the dress yet ( heaven knows what I will do with it) I'll post them next week
My dining set arrived on Tuesday and I am so thrilled with it
Now we HAVE to get the room painted white soon ( why do we always buy homes from colour blind owners)
We had already put up a new light fitting
All the apples are ready so we picked and packed them in layers of paper
The beans are thiving and the tomatoes are almost finished
Far too many Butternut pumpkins
A box of succulents waiting for an interesting container
Outside the laundry door
Making a run for it
I can hear the kookaburras laughing in the gum but I can't see them
My favourite roses from the garden...Asma Sharif, Princess Alexandra of Kent, Pierre de Ronsard

Love the look of your dinner table I bet you love to eat your meals there now. As always your garden is just so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautifully delicate headpieces. I haven't come across any vintage wedding gowns or headpieces in all my op-shopping. You always find such beautiful ones.
ReplyDeletePlease share a picture of the dress too.

Good Morning Meg, The headpiece you found, reminds me of the headpiece which Ivy, my Grandmother wore when she married..... it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your new dining table and it is so beautifully laid. Here in England, Spring is in the air, so for us everything is just beginning to grow, so I have tomatoes and beans to look forward to later in the year.
I have enjoyed my visit Meg, so I have become a new follower with Blog Lovin.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Hello Meg:
ReplyDeleteSuch excitement with all of these new things coming into your life!!
This post contains the most wonderful set of images and we are particularly drawn to those of the fruit and vegetables and, of course, the hens which remind us of the days when we kept them.
