This is a little sneak peek at the big ticket purchase we made from a beautiful shop in the Adelaide Hills. Its being delivered next week and I can't wait. This pic was taken in the shop
It's a French oak dining table with 6 cross back chairs. We saw this in the shop months ago before their sale and fell in love but could only dream of replacing our scratched and brown dining set. Then we saw them on sale....nope...still can't afford. My stepmother came to visit last week ( my darling Dad passed away just before Christmas with a long battle with cancer) with a few things Dad wanted me to have, as well the opportunity to buy something for the house as a post Christmas present
I will always think of Dad when we use the table
I'll take some more pics when they arrive !!!
Another not so thrifty find.....I happened to come across the little sister mercury bottle of my favourite dressing table collection
And in the same shopping area a gorgeous florist shop absolutely filled with David Austin roses
I kept moving them around the house to enjoy them and now they are hanging in the pantry drying
I found a couple of antique books at the Salvos a couple of weeks ago for my collection
The large book was a prize given in 1918 at the end of WWI
An evening storm

In the garden this week
The large egg laid last week turned out to be a double yolker and this week an even larger egg
The beans are flourishing in the cooler autumn days

DeleteMeg - what a lovely post. And, how good to have something to remember your dear dad by - something you will see and use everyday.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather strange to see your photos of autumn coming - for us, spring has just arrived. Tomorrow, we re-set our clocks one hour forward to summer time. One less hour in bed tomorrow, but it's proof that summer is just around the corner!
We go back one hour next week!!!!! ...so winter is not far off...our first winter in this house xx
