I stopped in at a tiny antique treasures shop in a close country town and found they are getting ready to rearrange and clean up the whole shop which is crammed full. They were hoping to sell a some pieces at marked down prices. I would have loved to have bought lots of things but tried to find something practical. I got a vintage brass carriage clock for $15 for my bedroom. The brass and crystal case is German and Japanese workings
The brass has a little aging on it
I adore the Dickens book" Great Expectations" It is really well read and has the address inside of the owner...a street that is long gone. The edition is also a rare one from his lifetime in the 1800's
The other one has a sweet inscription inside

Your farm is so beautiful! I'm really enjoying our opposite seasons-spring here and autumn there. They are two of my favorite seasons! LOL

DeleteHello Meg
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking beautiful going into Autumn - a great contrast in textures and colours - and such lovely vistas.
The carriage clock was a great buy - well done you - I would have bought it too!
I love your pink rose - it looks similar to my Pierre de Ronsaard which I planted in September.
I would appreciate you letting me know Meg.
A lovely post and I'm visiting from Liz's Fresh Cut Flowers.
Following you now
hugs
Shane

Sounds like your timing in that shop was just perfect. Your farm is just gorgeous, as always.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful. I love you book finds. Vintage books are one of my weaknesses.
