A Good Day's Haul

I hit a few op shops this week and found an eclectic mix of bargains . I was gobsmacked to find this highly collectable vintage  Royal Worcester  porcelain egg coddler  "Palmyra" for $2, at a Quaker shop.

Another old book to add to my growing collection  c1897 found in a junk shop in the Adelaide Hills

I found some great stuff at the Animal Welfare Shop

A vintage "Stratton" compact with monogram, yay now I have 6 in my little collection

Another large white bowl

Always happy to buy Tupperware for $2

This week's mail bought my second King Penguin book for my new collection.

I first read about this beauties in "Homes and Antiques" in an article written by one of the BBC Antique Road Show experts and fell in love with their covers

Sunday morning cherry tomato haul!

This morning the garden fragrance is divine....and looking fresh (before the next heatwave strikes)

  6. I love your book collections. What marvelous finds. I have allowed myself to get house bold, during these cold months and my fear of catching the flu. I need to tell myself, "dear self, you must venture out, there are bargains to be found".
    Have a wonderful week.

  10. What a great group! I love egg coddlers, and you don't see that pattern often. I love the Home & Antiques magazine, although I don't often find it here in the US...usually pick it up in the UK when visiting. The books are wonderful!

  16. I am totally envious of your ability to find such great treasures for such a small price and your floriferous garden. Just imagine what you would find if you came to France and the brocantes and vide greniers that are in all the villages! You would need a container to send them home!
Not to mention the Vinnies of France -Emmaus. I am addicted and we all line up at the car park gate each Thursday arvo ready for our treasure hunting. But let me tell you there is a lot of junk too... But there is something for everyone. It is so good that we all love the recycled pieces.
