What I found at the Fair

It's always exciting when the annual antiques fair comes to my small country town especially when it's  just over the fence ! My husband was away and surprised me with a gift of money before he left to buy something....yay
I chose  2 things..

a pair of antique chemist bottles

an original Victorian mirror frame with original photo

the 2 beautiful books were my own purchase

This Week's Finds

I found 2 sweet things in a charity shop this week
A pretty kilt pin with a purple stone for $4 ....perfect for pinning my pashminas and shawls this winter

This book for $3 is so old and frail it was in a plastic bag , how precious must it have been to Sarah. I have a medallion  on ribbon ,which came with another antique book, so I have tied up the book with it

I don't buy many new books but I couldn't buy this fast enough...it's DIVINE

The trees are bare but the Golden Elm is still hanging on

                                                        a crisp autumn morning

daffy bulbs popping up down the drive way

Blue Finds

I love these 5 bowls I found in a charity shop. They are circa 1900 and were a steal at $5 for the lot. Mind you I had to push the friend I was with out of the way to grab them first!!

A set of 4 cereal bowls for $2

the pink hyacinth bulbs which are in the pantry are sprouting well

A Bit of Bling

Found in a second hand shop ....an up-cycled string of pearls with an art deco clip added

hmm...think I'm developing a bit of a pearl addiction

Lots of work in the garden this week and the new paths and rose garden  at the bottom of the garden is progressing

where the lawns meet the path 2 tripods will  have "Nahema" climbing roses on them, inviting you to explore further down the paths

the pumpkins have been harvested  and the beds cleared of weeds . A box of perennials planted including Queen Anne Lace

you can also just see the pink climbing rose starting to climb up the bare brick wall which David attached wires to this week

pumpkin soup anyone?

although 20 pink bare rooted roses have been ordered David bought home this potted 2015 release which has now sold out. It's called Soul Sister and it almost luminous in colour and when it ages it turns lavender!

the darling little echidna seems to have taken residence in our property....when I spotted him he started digging under the rocks and thinks we can't see him any more
